Go For The Best
The best in the business use the best in the business. Since 1971, BGW has been dedicated to excellence in professional audio amplifier design. From our audacious beginning as the pioneer of Universal's Sensurround² to the sophistication and precision of our current Director's Guild installation, BGW exemplifies the innovation, quality and reliability of a true "engineer's amplifier".

Recognized and respected by sound professionals throughout the world, BGW products comprise many of the most coveted installations in the U.S. and abroad; this impressive list includes Warner Brothers, Abbey Road, Universal Studios, Disney World, The Lincoln Center, Los Angeles International Airport, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Mirage and Excalibur Hotels, The White House Rose Garden...in fact, BGW has even powered the Pope!

Sonic Precision
It's the standard by which we measure nearly every aspect of the BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES' designs. Sonic precision is the overriding criterion for the BGW Ultracase² transistors that provide the BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES output. These specially developed output devices have a gain bandwidth product of 20 MHz: 1000 times greater than the highest audio frequency. BGW engineers set the bandwidth of the PROFESSIONAL SERIES to approximately 100kHz - five times greater than that of a compact disc. Increasing the bandwidth further would only add to the possibility of radio frequency interference. With the outstanding electrical performance of these output transistors, it's no wonder that the BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES exhibit transient response, distortion characteristics and noise levels that many audiophile amplifiers would envy. These high slew rate amplifiers exhibit sonic characteristics that are purely open and natural - A must for studio applications - yet costing much less than the typical "studio amplifier".

Flexible Configurations and Controls
Since BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES models are used for many professional audio applications, their inputs and other operation features enhance their versatility. The standard high performance active balanced input module includes both male and female XLR connectors as well as ¼" phone jacks. The Models 750G and 350A have an arrangement that facilitates "daisy-chaining" a rack of BGW Professional Series Amplifiers. In addition, a switched ¼" input jack allows direct connection of the power amplifier's single ended input, thus bypassing the active balanced input. For biamplfied operation the 750G and 350A models accept BGW's internal crossover cards. Rear panel switches on the 750G and 350A engage the subsonic filter and allow the amplifiers to operate in dual mono mode. Ground lift switches on all models enable quiet operation on hum-prone power lines. Both the 350A and the low profile Model 200 are convection cooled, which makes them exceptionally reliable and suitable for installations where maintenance (cleaning air filters) is difficult. The 750G is also equipped with a fan defeat switch. Output connections are made via gold-plated 5-way binding posts, spaced to permit bridged mono connection via one dual-banana plug. A transformer-balanced version of all three models is available by specifying BGW Option 06.

Full DC Speaker Protection and No On/Off Transient
Primary mains protection has been combined with the on/off switch in a rocker-actuated magnetic circuit breaker which is mounted on the front panel and allows more predictable operation because it is independent of operation temperature. The BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES models utilize electronic turn-on delays, which prevent signals from reaching the outputs for three to five seconds after power is turned on. This gives the entire signal chain time to stabilize. A thyristor crowbar circuit built into each BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES model heat sink module prevents DC from burning up your speakers in case of catastrophic amplifier failure.

Informative Metering and Displays
The front panels of both the BGW 750G and 350A are designed to communicate all necessary information as quickly and clearly to the operator as possible. These models utilize a wide dynamic range of LED VU meters which use 20 rectangular green, yellow and red lamps on each BGW Professional Series model channel. The circuitry tracks load impedance and power line voltage changes and is activated whenever the amplifiers exceed their linear operation range. This display can be very useful in setting and maintaining system levels in monitoring compression and dynamic range, and in keeping track of each amplifier in large systems. Other status indicators include a pair of DC offset lights, a separate over temperature light, which indicates transformer temperatures above 110 degrees C, and a Power Supply failure warning light.

Unmatched Thermodynamic Engineering
The BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES models are totally free from thermal cycling fatigue failure - the power transistor failure mode that limits long term reliability. Each of the Ultracase transistors used in the PROFESSIONAL SERIES has its own solid copper header. This unique flat pack design allows for vastly improved heat transfer to the heavy aluminum heat sinks. With more than three times the active surface area of conventional steel packaged (TO-3) transistors used by other manufacturers, BGW Ultracase transistors can handle twice the heat. Over 10 pounds of aluminum is used in the 750G and 350A heat sinks to effectively absorb thermal transients and minimize fluctuations in transistor temperature.

Unlike power MOSFET's, Ultracase output devices do not require bias power. The driver stage uses the same power devices and runs in class AB mode. The BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES models have always enjoyed a reputation for running cool - that ability is the foundation of their outstanding reliability.

Outstanding Performance In Demanding Applications
Whenever superior audio performance and low maintenance are important criteria, the BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES is the inevitable choice. The Model 750G is for powering large, full range dynamic studio monitors or the low end in a two or three way system. The Model 350A is for powering mid size studio monitors or the mid or high range in a two or three way system. And finally, the Model 200 is for powering a pair of near field studio monitors, a multitude of headphones or the high end in a two or three way system. Backed by a full three year warranty and all hand built in the US, the BGW PROFESSIONAL SERIES is equipped with advanced features and designed to simplify installation while providing sound of the highest quality and uncompromised accuracy.
