Go For The Best
The best in the business use the best in the business--BGW. Since 1974, BGW has been dedicated to excellence in professional audio amplifier design. From our audacious beginning as the pioneer of Universal's SensurroundTM to the sophistication and precision of our current Director's Guild installation, BGW exemplifies the innovation, quality and reliability of a true "engineer's amplifier".
Recognized and respected by sound professionals throughout the world, BGW products comprise many of the most coveted installations in the U.S and abroad; this impressive list includes Warner Brothers, Abbey Road, Universal Studios, Disney World, the Lincoln Center, Los Angeles International Airport, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Mirage and Excalibur Hotels, The White House Rose Garden... in fact, BGW has even powered the Pope!
Always responsive to the needs of our customers, the BGW design team has developed the Millennium Series--continuing the tradition of excellence while incorporating the latest manufacturing technology. The result:
Sound Distinction
To achieve its remarkable sound quality, the Millennium Series utilizes a wide bandwidth (175kHz) class AB output circuit with very low bias and feedback. This approach yields outstanding accuracy and detail which everyone can appreciate.
In compliance with international safety standards, all Millennium Series Models feature conventional power supplies--a distinct advantage over multi-stage circuits, which remain a common cause of switching distortion among competitor's products.
In keeping with BGW's high standards, a generous array of low profile power supply capacitors provide an uncommonly high amount of stored energy. Having this energy just millimeters away from the output terminals allows for incredible transient response and speaker motion control.
Welded Steel Construction
The unique welded steel chassis provides a single, rigid frame onto which all components are mounted. The recessed front surface protects the controls, switches and indicators from abuse, while allowing adequate cool air intake.
All Millennium Series amplifiers are 3U (5.44") high designs and include rear support brackets for mobile applications. Each model shares the same attractive appearance, with a different color accent on its nameplate for easy model identification.
Advanced Thermal Engineering
A massive custom heat sink extrusion with a thick base serves as the mounting surface for Millennium's power transistors and output circuit board. The entire heat sink assembly can be replaced in minutes, allowing quick service when required. Dual speed forced-air cooling is employed by all Millennium Series amplifiers: A fan propels the cool air drawn in through the slots in the front of the chassis to the center of the heat sink fins; the heat is then dissipated, forced out the sides and back of the chassis. The large fins on the Millennium Series' heat sinks do not require filters, eliminating the frequent filter service necessary for other designs. And the advanced, THX-approved circuitry will drive difficult loads without generating annoying artifacts--or shutting down completely.
The Professional Standard
There is a base set of features without which no amplifier should be called "professional": Millennium Series amplifiers meet--and exceed--this standard. All Millennium models offer active balanced inputs on both XLR and 1/4" TRS phone jacks, ground lift, touch proof binding post outputs and LED indicators for Power, Signal Presence and Clipping/Limiting. And, recognizing the extraordinary power generated by the Millennium 3, each of these units is equipped with a switchable clipping eliminator. This advanced, opto-coupled circuit provides up to 20dB of limiting to keep upstream errors--and overambitious operators--from damaging precious speaker systems.
Unconventional Power
To meet the needs of today's power-hungry systems, the Millennium Series offers a wide selection of power levels. The model number indicates each channel's approximate wide band FTC power output in hundreds of watts when operated in dual channel mode with 8 ohm loads. All Millennium amplifiers deliver 50% more power into 4 ohm, 70 or 100 volt loads.
Each channel inside a Millennium Series amplifier is driven out of polarity. This unique approach achieves an additional 10% headroom by utilizing 100% of the power supply's stored energy at all times: Conventional designs rarely use more than 50%.
Built-In Reliability
Providing generous safe operating area is a strong BGW tradition. While this practice requires a greater number of costly output devices, the results--increased reliability and operating life, lower thermal stress and load on each power transistor--are worth it!
The Millennium Series uses advanced power transistor technology designed specifically for professional audio. These 200 Watt transistors (150 Watt in Millennium 1 and 2) offer greater safe operating area than previously available.
Conservative Design
Only the highest quality components are selected for use in BGW Millennium Series amplifiers.
BGW Millennium Models use transformers designed to meet stringent European standards.
All Millennium circuit boards are double-sided FR-4 flame retardant glass epoxy, with plated through-holes as an additional safeguard.
Before passing Quality Assurance, each BGW amplifier must survive a grueling battery of performance tests, including a shaker table test. Individual performance evaluations are shipped with each amplifier; the results often reflect measured power output well in excess of the amplifier's official rating.
Each BGW Millennium Series amplifier is covered by a five year parts and labor warranty--the most comprehensive in the industry.
You Deserve a Great Performance
No matter what the application, your performance is critical: You deserve BGW Millennium Series power. No other manufacturer gives you as much amplifier value as BGW... and no amplifier surpasses the new Millennium.
Go for the Best... Go for BGW.
