BGW Model 200 page2
Wide Bandwidth, Packed With Features, Yet only 1U High

High Thermal Efficiency With More Power in Less Space
The BGW Model 200 delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, or 200 watts into a 16 ohm monaural load. That's continous average sine wave power ("RMS") over the full audio bandwidth. A primary reason why this compact 1 rack unit high package is able to sustain such high power levels is its thermal efficient, all aluminum chassis, with large deep-fin heat sinks along both sides plus a heavy duty 3/16" aluminum front panel. Together, these surfaces conduct and dissipate heat to keep the output devices well within their safe operating area. The all discrete circuitry features BGW Ultracase output devices - providing a total of 1600 watts power dissipation. That's eight times the rated power of the unit.

Unlike typical "tweeter amps," this compact power amplifier is suitable for full range applications such as small control room monitor systems. It has over 20,000 microfarads of power supply filter capacitance for a solid-sounding bottom end. Of course, with an 85kHz small signal bandwidth, the Model 200 is equally well suited for driving the high-end of a bi- or tri-amped system.

Convenient Features
The Model 200 rear panel includes a stereo/mono mode switch, as well as both XLRs and 1/4" T/R/S phone jack. The input circuitry is actively balanced featuring a high common mode rejection. A transformer balanced version is available (specify option 06). Input transformers are the correct solution when high common mode voltages are present. Output connections are made via gold-plated 5-way binding posts, spaced to permit bridged mono connection via one dual-banana plug.

Other Features
LEDs on the Model 200 indicate modulation and true cliping. A five second turn-on delay protects speakers.
